Tell me what you know about Prepositions & Conjunctions--3 paragraphs

47 comments:

  1. Well, i know that prepositions are words that show relationship of a noun or pronoun to another word. Some prepositions are aboard, about, above, according to, across, after, against, slong, along with. Others are out, in, from, for, beneath, at, before. Prepostitons are awesome and you neeed to learn something about them to have a intelligent mind.

Conjunctions are important too. There are two types of conjunctions, coordinating conjunctions and correlative conjunctions. Coordinating conjunctions join words or groups of words that are used in the same way. Some coordinating conjunctions are and, but, for, nor, or, so,and yet. The other type of conjunctions are a bit harder but its ok. Correlative conjunctions are pairs of conjunctions that join words or word groups that are used in the same way. Some correlative conjunctions are both...and, either...or, neither...or.

  2. the next three pharagraphas are going to tell you about prepositions, and conjctions. they help people read sentences. They make it easyer to read and comprenend sentences. Conjuctions are made up of things that tell whit or where you can do or be.prepositions are things that help put sentences together.

the first thing i will tell you about will be conjutions. some comenly used ones are, and, but, for, nor, or, and yet. one example sentencewould be; Cocker spanies make good pets, BUT they requir a lot of grooming. like i said ealer they help put ssenteces toghter. that is what a conjunction is.

In this pahpagrph i will tell you about prepositions. some exampls are: from, in, for, after, as of, and at. An example sentance is what im most concerned ABOUT isyour safty. Like i said ealer they are all about what you can do or where you can be. So that is what a prepotion is.

A coordinating conjunction joins words or
groups of words that are used in the same way examples of these are:and, but, for, nor,or,so,yet. are coordinating conjunctions. 7. the next three paragraphs are going to tell you the way i know about how to use prepositions and conjuntion. there are a lot of ways you can use them. i will list some and also what i know about them. there are a bunch of ways to use them. there are some ways i know how....

prepositions have three ways to use them. you have demonstrative pronouns interrogation pronouns and relative pronouns. demonstitive pronouns points out out a person a place a thing or an idea, like this person. also like those places and a lot more. an interrogative pronoun introduces a question, like what question. also like which question. relative question introduces a subordinate clause.

a conjuntion joins a words or groups of words that are used in the same way. these have words like and but for nor or so yet. examples are like theo OR tyler. another example is quikly BUT carefully. there are correlative conjunctions and corrdinating conjunctions.

When the object of a preposition is a pronoun,it should be an object pronoun and not a subject pronoun.
Sometimes a preposition will have a compound object:two nouns or a noun and a pronoun. The pronoun in a compound object must be an object pronoun.
a conjunction- is a word used to join words or groups of words.

  11. A preposition, is a word that links nouns, pronouns, and phrases, to other words in a sentence. There are many comonly used prepostion as in; aboard, about, before, beneath, beside, across, aside from, between, around and many more. Prepositions are words that describe a certain something. Preposition, are used alot in different sentences. If you dont know how to use, or find a preposition, once you learn, it is something that you will never forget.

Another thing is, conjunctions which is a word used to link phrases, and or clauses. There are many conjunctions as well as prepositions as in; after, although, as, as if, as long as, as though, because, before, and even if.
Conjunctions are also used alot in many sentences. There is another thing called Coordinating conjunctions, which is a comonly used mistake in identifing conjunctions.

Prepositions, and conjunctions are used alot in English. These are words that you will always see. Also, these are words that once you learn, they are never forgotten. They are not that hard to find in a sentence, or a paragraph. But, conjunctions are very easy to be mistaken as coordination conjunctions.

What is a Prepostion. A prepostion is a word that shows the relationship of a noun or pronoun called the object of the prepostion to another word. Common used pepostions are about, along, below, around, to, of,and beside. Another way to remeber prepostions is what all you can do to a log. you can go above it under it. you can be beside it and so on...

What is an Conjunction. A conujunction- joins words or groups of words that are used in the same way. There is coordinating conjunctions and correlative conjunctions. Some of the ways i remeber my coordinating conjunctions is FANBOY- for, and, nor, boy, or, or, and yet. correlative conjunctions are- both...and, either...or, neither...or, wether...or, not only... but also.

That is what PREPOSTIONS and CONJUNCTIONS are to me. There is also many other ways to remeber them but these are my favorite ways. I hope me writting this help many other people out. I know these ways helped me out alot. Thank you for reading this and have a nice day!

  14. I know that a preposition is a word that shows the relationship of a noun or pronouns, calleed the object of the preposition,to another word. Some of the prepositions that are most commonly used are aboard, about and to. Like if
I were to use a preposition in a sentence the sentence would look like. Fortunately, they saftly drifted to the bank of the river. The perpositions in that sentences would be to and of.
A preposition is like something you can do to a log. So like I can go betweento two stools. Now i am going to tell you about conjunctions. A conjunction is a word that joins two parts of a sentence. There is two types of conjunctions coordinating conjunctions and correlative conjunctions.
Coordinating conjunctions connect two indepent clauses. Like here is an example many women wear African jewery or scarves. The conjunction would be or. A correlative conjunction they always travel in paires. Like for example African clothing is fashionable today for both men and women in the United States.

  18. I know a lot about prepositions. A preposition is a word that shows the realationship of a noun or pronoun. There are a lot of different prepositions. Some examples of prepostions are abourd, about, below, except, off, of, on, to, like, and under. an example of a prepostion in a sentence is: Fortunetly, they safely drifted to the bank of the river. To the bank would be the prepositional phrase.

There are two different types of conjunctions. One type is a coordinating conjunction. They jion words or groups of words that are used in the same way. Another type of conjunction is a correlative conjunction. They ar pairs of conjuntions that join words or word groups that are used in the same way.

Examples of a correlative conjunctions would be both...and, not only...but also, and whether...or. More examples would be neither...nor and either...or. A correlative conjunction would be used in a sentence like: African clothing is fashionable today for both men and women in the United States. Both and and are used in that sentence to join men and women together. Correlative conjunctions are very easy to spot in a sentence.

  19. A preposition is a word that shows the relatoinship of a noun or pronoun; called the object of the preposition to another word. Some examples of preposions are about, acoss, and for. There are many more but these are just a few. A way to remember prepositoins is to think what you can do to a log. An example sentence is: The rabbit ran around the tree. The preposition is around.

Conjunctoins is a word used to join words or groups of words. You can remember them by this saying:FANBOYS, for, and, nor, but, or yet so. these are coordinateing conjunctions. Correlative conjuctions are both...and, either...or, neither...nor, whether...or, not only...but also. An example sentence is Tom plays soccer, but, his sister plays softball. the conjuctoin is but.

Prepositions and conjunctions are very helpful. Conjunctoins can hepl you join sentences. Prepositions can help you add to the sentence. Examples are John ran around the bush. the prepositoin is around. I play basketball but i also play soccer. the conjunction is but.

  20. what i know about prepositions and conjunctions.

I know that conjunctions use words like and, but, and or. A conjunction conects different sentences and word pharses together to make one thing. There are two different types of conjuctions. there are correlative conjuctions with use words like both.....and, either...or, and not only...but also. They connect two or more word phrases together. The other one is coordinating conjunctions, they use commenly used junctions to connect sentences together, like and, but, and or.

i know that prepositions use words like except, down, and under. Preposition is a word that shows relations between a noun and a pronoun, its called the object of the prepositions. Words like underneath connect a noun and a pronoun together in harmony. There are also things called prepositional phares. they use words like of.....EX: we are the class of '10. The word in the sentence is a prepositional pharse and it modifys '10. you can also check your prepositional pharse bye marking it out of the sentence and seeing of the sentce still made sense of made a fragment.

i know that all of these english rules, may not make sense to me now. but when i get older and wiser, i'll be thankful i learned all of them. i also learned that there can can be more than one preposition in a sentence. there can also be more than one conjuctions in a sentence two, according to the way the sentence is put.

  21. A prepsoition is a word that conects phrases or sentences. Most people use them without even knowing there are using them. I think that prepositions are one of the most important parts of speech. If we didnt have them everyone's sentences would be really boaring. Anyone who thinks that prepositions are useless, have no idea what there talking about.
Conjunctions are words or phrases that connect two or more sentences or thoughts together. You use a semicollon(;), the comma with a dot over it, after your word or phrase then you can proseed to combine your sentences together. Conjunctions are almost as important, or of the same importance, as prepositions. There is a small diffrence between prepositions and conjunctions. That diffrence is important though.
So, those are just a few thoughts of mine about prepostions and conjunctions. Most of all, English grammer is confusing so we put everything into topics and sub-topics. This way things are easier to understand and we dont have to learn everything in a topic at once. Thank you for paying attention and wanting to learn more about our grammer. If you would like to know more about conjunctions or prepositions you may ask your teacher or you can look it up on the internet or the old fashiond way, in a grammer book.

  22. I am going to tell you what I know about prepositions and conjunctions. But first you have to know what they are. A preposition is a form of adverb. Remember though that a preposition always will have a noun or pronoun as an object. And a conjunction is a word used to join words or a group of words.
And some examples of a preposition is, We walked *around* the new civic center for several hours. The word center is the object/perposition of around. Another example would be, The family lives *near* the lake. Now the prepostion in the sentence would be near. And that is the object of lives. And that would be it for prepositions.
And now for some examples for conjunctions would be, Would you rather have a hamburger *or* a cheeseburger for dinner? And the conjunction for that sentence would be or. And another example would be, She didnt stay up tooo late, *nor* did she watch too much television. And the conjunction for that sentence would be nor. And thats the examples for conjunctions.

  23. Preposition is a word that shows the relationship of a noun or pronoun called the object of the preposition to another word.A couple of examples of prepositions are aboard, about, above, during, from, underneath, ect. For example,The frog jumped inside of the log.The prepositionis inside and the prepositional phrase is inside of the log. There are so many prepositions that i cant even listed them all. Here are a couple more next to,under, beyond.
Conjunctions are similar in some ways and diffrent in others compared to prepositions. There are two tyes of conjuctions. There is coordinating conjunctions that join words or groups of words that are used in the same way. Some examples of coordinating conjunctions are and, for, nor,so,but,or,and yet. There is also correlative conjunctions which are pairs of conjunctions that join words or word groups that are used in the same way.For example,both...and,either...or,neither...nor,not only...but also.
Now since we all know what prepositions and conjunctions are then we can learn
more things about language. We have prepositions that are in addition to,in front of,on account and so many more then that. Then we have conjunctions. We have two types ther is coordinating and ,for, nor,so,yet,or.Also there is correlative conjunctions that are both...and,either...or,neither...nor,not only...but also.

  24. Prepositions are words that show the relationship of a noun or pronoun. Common prepositions are of, in, and on. Prepositions also have prepositional phrases. Ex. in the tree. In is the preposition and in the tree is the prepositional phrase.
A conjunction is a word used to join words that are used in the same way. There are two kinds of conjunctions. The first is cooredination. Corrdinating conjunctions join words or groups of words that are used in the same way. EX. and, but, for, or, so, and yet. Correlative conjunctions are pairs of conjunctions that join words of word groups that are used in the same way. EX. both...and, either...or, neither...nor, whether...or, not only...but also.
Prepositions and conjunctions are two types of words. They are very different from each other. Most compound sentences have conjunctions, but many different sentences have prepositions in them. It is very hard to tell them apart in some sentences. But for the most part it is a peice of cake.

  25. Conjunctions are words that connect two sentences, words, or pharses. These include and, or, nor, yet, but, so, and for. Then you have your coorelative conjunctions. They are word phases that connect words of the same usage. These include not only...but also, either...or, neither...nor.
Preposition is a word that tells what a dog can do to a house or what a mouse may do to cheese. Prepositions are words such as about, above, after, across. Others include among, round, to, toward. You can come up with many ways to use these words. Though an example of how to use them as a dog amopng a house.
Then you have prepositional pharses. These are modifiys nouns and verbs. They do this while indacating various relationships between subjects and verbs. Some examples of prepositional pharses include over the hill, behind the door, and during lunch. Now remember to notice that prepositional pharses contain NO words. Courtney Elizabeth Grier.

  27. Conjunction- A conjunction is a word used to join words or groups of words. There are several diffrent types of conjuctions, therefore it gets a little confusing to me sometimes. One type is a coordinating conjunction. Coordinating conjunctions join words or groups of words that are used in the same way. examples: and, but, for, nor, or, so, yet. The other type is correlative conjuntions. Correlative conjunctions are pairs of conjuntions that join words or word groups that are used in the same way.

Now we move on to Prepositions. A Preposition is a word that shows the relationship of a noun or pronoun, called the object of the prepostion, to another word. Some examples of prepostions are: according to, but (meaning except. My sentence is: At the train station, the ticketmaster came along and punched holes in out tickets. There are preostional phrases. in which I think are quite simple. A prepostional phrase has a noun or a pronoun as an object.

Recently in Ms. Posey's class we have been studying prepositions and conjunctions. Ms. Posey has a way of teaching that just grabs my attention and understand things alot better. At first I thought I would never understand prepositons & conjunctions. I was able to figure it out, because Ms. Posey stood up and taught.

Okay now this paragraph is about prepositions. Prepositons are used to show the relationship of nouns and pronouns. They are used very often in our grammer today and i really dont know how long theyve been around. Most people use them without even knowing it they just dont relize that is wat they are using when they talk. they reason for that is that most people really do not care about them so they tend to not know when they use them.

okay now i will tell u what i know about conjunctions. they are probaly used more than the prepositions but there just as important. one way to remember them is by using the word FANBOYS. the word FANBOYS stands for as follows: For, ANd, Nor, But, Or, Yet, and So. so that is all i know about prepositions and conjunctions i hope u like it

  33. Prepostions show relationships between nouns and pronouns and other words in terms of space, time and other senses. There are words starting with about to with regard. Coordinating Conjunctions connect words, phrases, and clauses which are grammatically equal. They cannot, for example, join a verb and a noun, a phrase and a clause, or a main clause and subordinate clause. These corresponding conjuctions range from words like: but, or, yet, so, for, and, and nor.

Subordinating Conjunctions signal the relationship of subordinate clauses to main clauses. A subordinate clause cannot stand alone as a sentence even though it contains a subject andverb. Words like: after, because, in order that, than, when,
although, before, once, that, and whenever. They are to help to indicate concession, to show cause, to express a condition, to indicate purpose, and to fix a time.

Correlative Conjunctions are words used in pairs. Like: neither/nor, either/or, not only/but also. They should be placed next to the words they connect. You have to use both words in the same sentence. Example: They not only finished the project on time but also came in below budget.

  42. There are many things to know about prepositions, and conjunctions. You may know most of them. You may not know any.Either way i hope to increse your knowlege of these to parts of speach. So listen care fully i am not repeting my self.
I am going to start with preposition. These are probaly eisier to remememb to most peple, and thats why i am startinG with prepositions. The definition of preposition is: a word that shows relationship of a noun or pronoun. An example sentece cold be;the monkey sat on the log.Your preposition would be on wich is what the monkey is doing to the log thats not performin a verb
Lastly thers conjunctions wich might be a little harder. The defiition of conjunctin is: A wourd that joins ther wouds or sentences to gether.Ther are two types of conjunctions correlitve and coordinating.cordinating are a single word like and, or + but.Corelitive conjunction consist of two words. An example cold be, both and or either or but that only to rhere are moore but i already got you on the right path so good bye

  43. A prepositional Pharse is a group of words that begins with. A preposition and ends with a noun of pronoun. Which is called the object of the preposition. A prepositional phrase can act as an adjective or an adverb. Sometimes the object come before the prepositions.

A conjunction is a word used to join words or groups of words. When for is used as a conjuction,it connects clauses. On all other occasions for is used as a prposition. The coordinating conjuction so is often overused. For variety, reword a sentence to avoid using so.

Also prepositions that consist of more than one word. Such as in front of are called compound preposition. As a genral rule, the object of the preposition follows the preposition. be careful not to confuse a prepositional phrase that begins with to {to town,to her club}. Any thing that modiriers of the object are called a prepositional phrase

  44. A preposition is a word that shows the relationship of a noun or pronoun, called the object of the prepostion, to another word. All together, the prepostion, its object, and any modifiers of the object are called a prepositional phrase. Prepostions can be remember as what a squirrel can do to a tree, or other funny things to help you remember. Prepostions are sometimes confused with adverbs and are, to some people, hard to distinguish between the two. An easy way to tell the difference is that, a preposition always has a noun or pronoun as an object. There are many prepostions that can be used and they help describe where, or what a person or thing is doing. It is much more complicated and broke down, but the simplest part is that a prepostion is a word or words that put more detail into a sentence.
A conjunction is a word used to join words or groups of words. There are two different types of conjunctions. Coordination conjunctions-and, but, for, nor, or, so, and yet-join words or groups of words that are used in the same way. These kinds of conjunctions are seen more often than correlative conjunctions are. Correlative conjunctions-both...and, either...or, neither...nor, not only...but also, and whether...or-are pairs of conjunctions that join words or word groups that are used in the same way. Conjunctions are used everyday in everyday things such as, newspapers, books, and in things you write. Conjunctions are pretty easy to spot if you look in the right place. Conjunctions can be mixed up with other things also, as can prepostions. Though, if you take the time, you should be able to find them.
Prepostions and conjunctions are very useful in literature. They can be simple and easy to figure out, but sometimes they can be difficult. Prepostions, as i've told you, help detail a sentence. Conjunctions help join two sentence or can be more complex. Conjunctions and prepostions can be seen in the same sentence and are sometimes easy to spot. Though, some of the times they get mixed up with other everyday things, such as adverbs. Now that you know what prepostions and conjunctions are, you should be able to distinguish between the two and use them to make your writing alot easier. They can also help people understand your writing more and might can make you sound smarter. So from now on, use them, but use them in the right places.
